No it does not mean you have to go fight. There are different ways to support our troops.
You can encourage support to deployed soldiers through letters, care packages, pen pal campaigns, and monetary donations. Or you can proudly display a yellow ribbon on your vehicle, house or place of business.
No matter what your views are on the war, show your support for our troops and their families; wear a yellow ribbon today & everyday until they all come home!

The biggest problem that I can see with all of this infighting is that it is diverting our energy into some kind of schoolyard brawl. There is an awful lot of "na na na na" going on while very little is being accomplished.
I think we would all be better served on this and any other forum if we acted like reasoning adults.
There is an old saying,"divide and conquer", we can have honest disagreements without trying to hurt or destroy each other. It is important that we not forget that we are all Americans first. Attacking each others patriotism and motivation is not useful.

You make a good point. And, in principle, I agree with you.
But, on the other hand, I think there's also a decent point somewhere deep down under the shrill rhetoric of the liberals. What they are (ineloquently) trying to point out is that there are a lot of politicians who seem willing to send our courageous soldiers to risk their lives on ventures that aren't always worth the risk. The question (that my WWII vet dad was always fond of asking) is whether these politicos would still be engaging that war if they themselves were the ones fighting. I think it's a legitimate question to ask.
Is Iraq really the safest or most effective way to fight al-Qaeda? Most of us would have to agree that it is not.

Yes you should join the military if you are going to judge those of us that oppose the war for moral reasons.
Btw, I opposed this war from the beginning, am a far left liberal and served in the Army during Desert Storm... Gulf War 1.
Why can't you?

Another way to look at it might be to think......would I be willing to go and fight for our country, would I want my son or daughter over there, is the reason we are going to war going to be worth all the dead, maimed and destruction?? that is what people should think before they raise their hands and vote "Lets go to war"

George didn't step up when it was his turn .his Dad did.......
It depends on how strongly you feel about the war....about all the people dying and about what you could do.....
people are dying...If you support the troops.send them things,,,,,,,they need lots of stuff.you and your friendscan adopt a company stationed in Iraq and send them things like dvd's batteries, candy, whatever they like................I do and I am one of those liberals you dislike,,,,,,,,,
