U2 can kick Thin Lizzy's @$$...any Album they release tops for more than 5 years...and Thin Lizzy's albums have never gone to No. 1 while U2's Joshua Tree went up to first for more than 9 weeks...Atchung Baby also was at the top..and even The Unforgettable Fire..look at U2 albums and they r better compared to Thin Lizzy's sucking ones
And U2 got many songs kicking Thin Lizzy's A$$-

Why do you keep asking this question then if your so all up on U2? I'm sure Bono could kick Phil Lynott's a** considering Phil has been dead for over 20 years! Yeah, U2 have achieved more fame & made more money but I find their music to be mediocre & overrated....Thin Lizzy could rock in the day....I'm sure more people can remember the song "Boys are Back in Town" more than a lame U2 song!!!

Well, as I though, most people like U2 better, but I think this is unfair, Thin Lizzy has better songs, and inspired probably just as many bands as U2.

Thin Lizzy obviously has more talent. Just like everybody else is saying here.

Anyone who says U2 is pop has obviously never heard "Sunday Bloody Sunday". Nothing pop about that.
And anyone who says Thin Lizzy has better riffs has clearly never listened to more than five U2 songs.

U2 have to been it the top 40 world's biggest selling ever,so U2 and what person doesnt know who Bono is.
But Thin Lizzy are much better

I've heard both bands many times and Thin lizzy is by far better than U2! They wrote better and the guitar players were far better than Edge's weak guitar playing! A few Grammies, you say? That's like winning a free turkey & anybody that is a real music lover, doesn't take the Grammy awards seriously

Thin Lizzy are Classic Rock
U2 are Pop
and anyway, if you're asking about Irish bands, you have to include Clannad.

Phil Lynott will ALWAYS be better than Bono.
Phil was a legend, Bono is just annoying and too political.
There's only one 'looser' here, and we all know who it is.
