Esther.
It's a name that may mean "star" in Persian; it could also be a Hebrew form of Ishtar, the name of a Persian goddess. Either way, it is a name used in the Bible -- the Book of Esther in the Old Testament tells of Queen Esther, the Jewish wife of the king of Persia, who saves many Jews from persecution.

For the record "ester" as you spelled it, is a carbon compound created when you react an organic acid with an alcohol. They produce fruity odours.
