No synths - it was all done with an orchestra (the entire Star Wars soundtrack & music). As for percussion - MAYBE a cymbal or kettle drum - but I can't remember hearing any.

Played by the London Symphony Orchestra.

As far as I know, the composer John Williams didn't use synthesizers for "The Imperial March" which is Vader's signature musical piece. He uses mainly traditional orchestral instruments. He included an occasional distorted guitar melody in the later prequel films especially in "Attack of the clones".

Hmm.. your genius has a danger to polish once back by way of this question, Alberich. except for the piano, i'd be a celeste by way of gentle tones produce even as the keys are pressed. As for the composers, i'd INDEFINITELY love Tchaikovsky because...properly... i does no longer have worry-free i had to be a celeste if I had never heard his fashionable Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker.
