Do you screen your incoming calls, before you answer the phone?

I always look at my caller display to see if I recognise the number. If the number is withheld I don't often answer as experience shows that someone is trying to sell me something. The same goes for International; I know of no-one outside Britain who will be calling me.

I use to, and found it to be an exercise in futility. If those "telephone freaks" want to sell you something, they will get through to you one way or another. However,if the conversations starts off with someone using my First Name as though we were old friends and the "pitch" starts, I interrupt, with:" This is the City Morgue, how may I help you?" Works every time!!!

I have caller ID on my phone so no need to screen..but if the number that I don't recognize then yes..

specific, my mom continually advised me to no longer answer the telephone if i did no longer understand who became calling or earlier caller identity, to tell her who purely stated as. a great form of regulations, telephone containers are a needed evil.
