I think that is a good example of why some people shouldn't own guns. I think a better example of why gun control is important is all the recent college shootings. Like hello to the United States, don't you think we have a gun problem yet? Even if it were to be controlled people always find a way to get guns illegally, just like prohibition, people still drank.

Have you ever heard of a country called switzerland. Every household there has a rifle. Each citizen must serve 2 in the military. In The UK they have practically no guns. Guess which country has a lower rate of crime. If you guessed Britain you are wrong!

This is a good example of why we shouldn't do stuff that requires concentration while drunk.

An emphatic NO.

Gun control does not equate idiot control...

I am assuming that the most ardent background check, would not have raised any...."I am an idiot" flags...so no amount of ...control....would have prevented these incidents....

The more gun control we have...the more only criminal will possess guns...do you really think THEY will follow any rules that may be passed on this issue?

If you think this is an example for more stringent laws for gun control....what you are really wanting to curtail is not the ownership of weapons....you are wanting to legislate human idiocy......something that, sadly, will never be completely abolished.

Thanks. Brad Paisely? What was he thinking? Well, just another example. Yes, gun monitoring laws should be add ed to the campaign agenda's but many court the NRA instead. I'm Republican/Independent and I am disgusted. Big business alive and well.No change here.
Columbine was another, I had a dear friend killed in the SFO law office shootings, in Hawaii we had some nut kill his Zerox workmates, and a hostage taking of another friends company. Unless guns directly affect you few will listen.
Many have tried. Now after Virginia Tech ? Still no response. Politics stinks some days. Have a good one anyway. Aloha.

No, not at all. What part of "he was charged" did you not understand? You can't possibly think that adding another dopey liberal feel-good law would have changed anything. How about we do this? From now on we don't allow bleeding hearts to plea bargain on existing gun laws?

No, it is not a particularly good example of the need for gun control. It is a very good example however of stupidity, which unfortunately cannot be legally controlled either.

The concealed weapon permits make no sense to me, this is not the wild west. I do support an individuals right to have bear arms in his or her home.

But that was Kentucky, after all. I would like to know what happened. Was he punished for potentially putting others in danger? Did they immediately take away his concealed carry permit?

I would add that Switzerland is interesting but I believe guns are kept at home, no concealed carry.

No, the story reminds me of the cop who shot himself in the leg while giving a gun safety speech in a school. I guess you want to take all the guns away from cops too you little freedom hater.

Just because some people are stupid, or sometimes do stupid things, that is no reason to take away EVERYONE's right to do something.

Your argument is "some people do stupid things with guns, sometimes they hurt themselves, sometimes they hurt other people, so we shouldn't let people have guns".

I could just as easily say "Democrats do stupid things in things with ballots. Sometimes they elect corrupt fools like Ray Nagan, and Kathlene Blanco, and innocent people suffer because of it. Sometimes they elect really corrupt fools like Bill Clinton and the whole world suffers because they are too busy sexually harrasing the staff to deal with things like the Tech Bubble, or Osama. Sometimes they elect honest fools like Jimmy Carter who screwed up the economy and the whole nation suffered. Obviously we shouldn't let them vote. We need ballot control! We need to take the right to vote away from stupid people!

wow talk about shooting yourself in the foot. a bullet and a charge that sucks. whoa Nazi? since when are you a Nazi for wanting gun control. i cant believe some politicians want to bring guns into schools. how about a little corporal punishment in younger years for a bit of discipline instead of shooting them in latter years. completely ridiculous if you ask me
