My husband and I just recently found out that we're expecting, due June 9th, 2008, and I couldn't be happier. He was working, when I took my pregnancy test, so as soon as I saw it was positive I went out and got a small gift bag with a card that said congratulations and was blank on the inside. I wrapped the test in tissue paper and put it in the gift bag, and I attached the card in the envelope to the bag, and wrote "We did it." On the inside of the card. I called him and told him instead of coming directly home, I wanted to go out to dinner and met him at a nice restaurant for dinner... after we finished eating I told him, I have a surprise for you, and I handed him the gift bag. He opened it and began smiling and hugging me... then he loudly says "We're having a baby" for half the restaurant to hear, lol. But it was cute. We're having our parents over for dinner tonight to anouce it to them... it's been hard not to tell my mom on the phone, but we wanted to tell them in person.

Go buy a cute maternity top and then you can excitedly say "I found the cutest top today..." and then show them the maternity shirt.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!

P.S. We told everyone on Christmas day!!

Well my annoncement was a bit different. My ex and I went to the doctor when I was three months pregnant, he did a test that showed up positive, my ex just sat in the corner of the room and didn't look at anyone.
About three days later, of which I cried all because I realised he was going to leave, I showed my mum the tests.
After that, the news spread like wildfire, including the drama with all the relatives first child born out of wedlock oh no lol.
The rest is history, and three years later, both my son and I are incredibly happy.

First of all congrats.i do not have any children, but this is what my sister did. first of all,all us sisters knew she was pregnant, but she had to tell mom and dad. so she got a card. ones that where basic saying love you grandma and love your grandpa. she put a copy of the sonogram. Now my mom and dad did not have any grand kids at the time so when they opened it, they where like what the heck and than my mom just sat there crying and my dad was jumping all around the house with joy. I know your parents are going to be just as happy. Good luck to all three of you :) all my best Oh yea i forgot to add that her husband was just deployed to Iraq when she found out. they where on the phone and she just said there is a bun in the oven and knowing him,he said well i miss your cooking and baked goodies and she said no there is a BUN in the OVEN and you could hear him screaming over the phone " i am going to be a daddy"

When are you due and who are you telling? You could get family "world's best grandma/grandpa/aunt" mugs. Or give them plastic Easter eggs with ultrasound pictures inside. You could ask everyone over for dinner and make sure one of the places at the table is set with a plastic plate, plastic fork and spoon and a sippy cup. You could leave onesies and pacifiers in strange places for them to find. You could put a bun in the oven and have someone go check on it. You could look up how big your baby is right now (size of fruit) and give them that fruit and ask them to guess what it means. You could get your family together and ask them to resolve a conflict between you and your partner - he says the baby will be a girl but you say it will be a boy, which do they think it will be? Congrats and good luck!

Well, with my first 2 my husband was there for the pregnancy test...although he says he "knew" I was pregnant just because of the changes in my moods. This third baby was a TOTAL surprise...not planned...so on the 4th of July I bought a pregnancy test and hid it in my purse..when I got home I waited for awhile then I did the test and right away it was positive...I cried because it was shocking and then I led my husband to the bathroom (he thought he was in trouble for something) and I showed him the test...his eyes got really big and all he said was "okay"..."wow". Then we hugged! He is such a great dad! Then we told the rest of the family at our 4th of July picnic...they were all so very shocked..it was quite amusing.
Your story was very touching! Your due date is my son's birthday! Best of luck to you and your husband!

I peed on the stick, two lines shows before i could put the cap back on, I ran for the house phone and my cell phone, called my mom on one, and my mother in law on the other and started screamning hysterically "TWO LINES THERES TWO LINES TWO LINES!!!"

My mother in law couldnt understand me, and my mom though I was in an accident laying in the middle of the road calling her to tell her I was dying... lol.

But yeah, thats how we told our parents.
