Only if by complete simplicity you mean 'unity with being.'
In that case not only would Truth be known, it would be realized/actualized. Truth (about yourSelf) and unity with god/reality is the most powerful state of consciousness we can enter.

Yes, it is easier to know truth in a condition of complete simplicity. Also when one is away from complexities and pomp truth is nearer.
However living a simple life is like a two edged sword.
What I mean is that it has its own rewards and drawbacks.
I know many intellitent people who have suffered a lot due to their quest for simplicity and simple life. Though living nearer to the truth they have suffered and got pained in this world and in the worldly life.
I would say simplicity or simple life helps one achieve the truth. But it is not a mandatory precondition for realizing the truth. Internal simplicity or simplicity of mind and character is more important. One who has a simple and beautiful mind, is mentally and internally in the condition of simplicity devoid of pomp but lives a balanced life and does not fall prey to the swindlers of the world but maintains one's balanced life has got a lot more good chances for knowing the truth.
Live a good, balanced life in the world and have a good, noble, simple though intelligent and careful mind and approach and keep the search on for the truth. This is the principle for finding the truth living in this world.
Remember even blessed and liberated souls living in the world would require food, water, clothing and shelter from this world.
Also more important to the searchers of the truth is their independence. Intellectual, finanacial and other kinds of independence help a lot in living a life where the truth can be sought and realized. A searcher for truth should not let his or her independence forego to any other powerful individual or institution. The gist of the matter is maitaining a balance among simplicity, independence, worldly needs and wants of life, modesty and righteousness, morality and ethics, sources of income and the search for the truth etc.
A quiet and peaceful mind is always nearer and closer to realizing and living the truth. How can a mind be quiet or peaceful unless one's basic needs of the world have been fulfilled, one is not dependent on anybody or anything else, one is free to think as well as is reasonably secured and is without deceits.

I think the definition of simplicity is having our physical needs met while at the same time avoiding attachments to material possessions. It is not that material possessions are inherently bad; they simply block the view to seeing clearly. If my life is a constant state of acquiring, then my focus is on deriving pleasure from the next conquest. This takes my focus off of what is truly meaningful, that which cannot be bought or sold, or even taken away. Yes, in this body I have certain physical needs, albeit fewer than the average American believes are necessary, but anything beyond those needs begins to cloud my vision and access to true happiness and bliss.

Either you are in a state of complete simplicity because your intellect cannot grasp complexity, in which case it is possible to be attuned to truth through your intuition.
Or, you are in a state of complete simplicity even though you have a complex intellect and are conscious of more than most. In this case you are trying to artificially subdue your intelligence so you can grasp truth with your intuition.
The former is likely to succeed, the latter is not.
Bottom line, the more we rely on our brain to understand truth, the less likely we are to know it. Absolute truth is beyond our realm of understanding and has to be experienced rather than understood.

It could.
Without all the chatter, noise, interruptions both uninvited and those invited, yelling, accusing, condemning, Constance motion, TV, media and wars, they did it, you did it, everyone did it, do it my way, not their way not his way her way you ve done it the wrong way, this is the way, etc. etc. one could certainly hear the truth through complete simplicity for in this would come a clear whisper of what it is needed to not only hear the Truth but how one can live with it in harmony.

Simplicity is an attitude based upon economy of needs, desires, thoughts, activities and therefore avoidance of unnecessary complications in life. Simplicity is not minimalism as that would suggest only a life style and not an overwhelming intellectual and spiritual attitude adopted for the search of better knowledge, transcendental thoughts and an enhanced sense of being.
But simplicity could start to verge upon stupidity if the underlying purpose or cause is lost. Mystics, for instance, seek eternal truth in life and for that purpose they seek to eliminate as many materialistic distractions as they could.
And simplicity is also an essential scientific approach towards solving all problems of physical world; all scientific definitions are simplistic statement of the fact in truth of the physical world. It is, for instance, assumed that one day a simple equation will be forged to present in crystallised and compact form the unifying theory of everything.
According to experiences of the wise and wonderful the threshold between complications of life and simplicity is in the act of buy a goat … the goat will necessitate a rope to tie it with, than a hook in the ground and then a hut to keep it in and grass and so on.
In my personal view, however all good thoughts are simple thoughts, or thoughts leading up to simplicity in life in general where all complications are considered to eliminate complications, to reach simple facts in truth. Aside simple thoughts, there could also be simple actions, simple needs and simple dreams, desires, wishes and prayers along side people that could be simplistic in their lifestyle too.
It is therefore not simplicity alone that we seek, as we also seek things that can be made simple, and the ways that can keep things and matters in our life simple and useful. It is like when we travel and finally get to our destination we find that the journey itself all the way alone has been also been the fruit of our labour – the paths that lead to our dearest destinations we often very dearly remember.
Simplicity is just a state of mind where it can see better, concentrate and develop in peace. As if there are too many things to distract and obstruct either thinking or feeling we might not be able to do anything, or appreciate any thing. And if it becomes too hard for us to go through things, to reach our destination then we might find no joy I doing so, and life might become too tedious too be any good for the comfort of our own heart.
Another instance could that of a deep forest: imagine that you are in the middle of it, in the thick of the night and the only thing you have to see is your torch, your mind, now it is not possible for you to all around at once, you will have to shine your torch upon one thing at a time, and than you realise that the undergrowth is too thick for the light to penetrate and you cannot see more that a few feet inform at any place in time. This is a state of mind when we have too many problems at have, when we have to joggle with too many things at once.
