Who is really listening to idealistic young people today? Who is inspiring them to get out and campaign, and register, and vote?

Wow! I am surprised at the negative attitude toward young voters! I'm 60 years old, and I think the kids are OK!

Alright, it is conceded they've mostly had a lousy education, but if you talk to them, and you LISTEN to them, plenty of them really are thinking. And they don't trust politicians much, I can tell you!

I know that Ron Paul has an affect on all the young people in my area. His ideals to give back our personal liberties and end the Iraq conflict has become very popular.

I want a government to stay out of my personal life and defend my rights under the Constitution. Ron Paul has more volunteers than all of the other candidates combined. I wish more young people my age would read up on him and see what he is about, he has changed my view of the politics.

He has been on the Daily Show, Colbert report, and Bill Maher. And knows that all of America needs to represented, not just the old, dems, or repubs.

Go Ron Paul!

The 18 to 35 year old block of citizens is the LEAST sought after voting block as they are ALSO the LEAST likely to actually show up at the polls and cast a vote. It has ALWAYS been that way, Younger folks are too busy with their OWN lives to be willing to devote much time to becoming informed about the issues or the candidates. the Block that is being wooed the MOST is the Baby Boomer generation as they are NOW the most likely to vote AND become informed about the issues AND the candidates. In terms of sheer numbers, the Baby Boomers WILL determine the outcome of this next few sets of elections.

50 hours a 365 days isn't lots. Heck a great form of the nearby youths try this lots rather of detention or suspension. as some distance because of the fact the college - that could be in partial charge for pupil loans it fairly is greater desirable than honest. $4000 for under a hundred hours? not undesirable pay. Too many are defaulting on pupil loans because it incredibly is and this way they are waiting to furnish decrease back and make their financial burden much less confusing. i understand people who're nonetheless paying off their loans 2 an prolonged time later and would have enjoyed to be waiting to repay $4000 a 365 days.

Communication skills really don't matter if the young voter doesn't have a decent education or a firm grip on really and how the world works.

These voters are more likely to vote for the candidate who pipes out what the 'young voter' wants to hear, he doesn't have to believe it himself, just as long as it hits the ears of a gullible crowd; much like the way most of yahooligans vote for the best answer. It just feels good, facts don't matter.

I think Obama is the only one I've seen that's been able to resonate with younger, disillusioned voters who otherwise would just as well sit out the whole madness. He "sounds" fresh, positive, and different than the whole political weasely pandering DC crowd. We'll see though, he might be inspiring people to "get out and vote", but getting young people to vote in a primary is still a different story.

On the flip side, Ron Paul seems to play well with the more libertarian-leaning crowd. But I think libertarianism is not as fashionable with the younger generations as it used to be.

I completely agree with M. most young 'idealists,' and trust me i used to be one, really are ignorant on how the economy works, not just history. The Democrats have always played well to people like this, because they promise the most "free stuff," such as health care, college money, etc.

All today's kids care about is XBox, MTV, and fornication. The voting age should be raised to 30.

Aren't there bigger issues facing this country that the "idealistic young" people haven't thought about?

Maybe they will.............
