I asked for advice the other day regarding my wife being a week late. I followed advice and bought a pregnancy test which she took at 3am (first of the day with 8mth baby) It came up neg. She still has bad backache but her tummy keeps tightening when she moves. I know thats an end preg symptom but as she is someone who has terrible period cramps and is in no pain, i was wondering if anyone else has felt this in early pregnancy.

hi,
the test might be negative if its too early in the pregnancy due to hormone levels which might be delayed by your wife breast feeding. breast feeding can delay the monthly cycle. so therefore maybe test in a few days when this would have risen to be picked up on the pregnancy test. also i would recommend the clear blue digitial pregnancy test it is the most accurate but regretfully the dearest. but hey one way to find out!
my advise wait a few days do another test if negative then see the gp for further advise and guidance.
goodluck

Is she breast feeding? Iam at the 8 month mark and my son nurses less, and I've been told that it will cause your uterus to contract more, to shrink up and to be painful.

She can wait a week and test again, or just go and ask her doctor about it all.

maybe she has a bladder infection if her back is aching, She really should go to the doctors though.
