I'm 27 weeks and for the past 2 days, have been having some cramps. It feels like period except maybe a tad worse. It's definately not killing me, but definately does not feel good. They come and go during the day and night. The other night it woke me up. Just curious if this was normal? Thanks!

You'll get braxton hicks contractions, they are not comfortable.

Drink a lot of water, you shouldnt have more than 6 in an hour, and they should stop when you lay down for a half hour and drink a glass of water.

Period like cramps are usually caused by irritation at the cervix, usually you dont have them until later when you're dilating, but you can also get them when the baby or uterus settles lower in the pelvis.

If youre concerned, go in for an exam and have them check you.

I am 30 weeks and have been having those and having the baby move a lot. I am going to speak to my doctor about it. But it sounds to me your just having false contractions, but if they start to be more frequent then you should talk to your doctor asap. Good Luck!!

I've been having them off and on as well. People keep telling me to drink more water and not to worry about it,,, including my doctor. Its my third pregnancy never had it before but I suppose its normal.

Edit- and people also say their just braxton hicks but I know their not from experience... I say call your doctor and see what they say.

it has been proven that by 27 weeks you can give birth and your baby will survive but i think you are having false contractions if it persists maybe you should see your doctor or just make a call to him and tell him how you feel.
good luck
