Absolutely, I put everything in my recycling bin that they will recycle. I wish they recycled more plastics, but they only take the #2 plastics for now where I live. It's amazing that some years ago, there was no recycling program in place, so everyone was throwing it all in the garbage.

I am sure it was "totally normal" wherever you are at some point in times as well. Also, I am sure that not everyone in you are recycles everything. You will always run into people who do not care about it. The U.S. is behind the rest of the world in its recycling habits. But, large strides have been made to catch up. You see major cities passing mandates to become sustainable, which include major recycling programs. The more these facitlites are available, and the more cities start charging for actual wast pick up the more you will see individuals utilize their local recycling center.

Yes, where I live we have recycle rubbish bags, so there is not an issue with bins being full up.
As to the ignorant people who don't recycle or burn their rubbish, the main reasons that I recycle is because I care about the planet and want to leave something decent for my children (when we are married and have them) and their children.

I'm really bad with those things but my hubby will take all the recyclables out of the garbage and assort them. He is so good like that, I married a magic man

id love to recycle all that stuff, but our suburb only gets our recycle bin emptied every fortnight!!!!!!!! we r forced to throw stuff we cant fit in out recycle bin into our regular garbage bin
i find this ridiculous, they want us to save our planet,, but theyr too tight to get the garbos out more often, xxxxxxxxx

Yes, good for the planet plus in parts of the UK you either get fined or they don't empty your bin if you don't
