I'm sure each think their own way is better..it's in the way we're wired.
I beileve we all have good intentions...but my perception of the Democrat way is that it causes the opposite of it's intention

Distribution of wealth

Democrats will see an inequity and try to correct it by taking from those who have and redistributing to those who have not.

Republicans see this as unsustainable -an endless cycle of dependency. They rather think everyone should strive to do better for themselves through investment in business - creating jobs or through consumption - also creating jobs.

If everyone did better for themselves, we'd all do better.

I guess its all in the way we describe how each goes about their means to an end.

Over the years, it has been explained to me that Democrats believe in the ideals that no one should have too much power or influence. Everyone should have equal opportunity to succeed. Power and money should be re-distributed across the board. Overall, success of the individual is frowned upon because the success of this individual also points out the failure of the others. Government is believed to be the ultimate authority and knows best.

Republican beliefs cover attitudes of individual success. Government should stay out of the lives of the people. The people can do a better job than the government. They believe that competition brings out the best in people, cities, states, and a nation. The people are believed to be the ultimate authority, and are believed that they know best for their own situations.

I believe that the Republican ideology best fits my lifestyle. I choose for me and mine... Not the government.

They are telling you those things but that doesn't mean it's true. Deficit spending is much, much higher under Republicans since Reagan and continued under all Republicans since then-George Jr being the worst. We have a $10 trillion deficit today-that's up from 5.6 trillion when GW started in 2001. He keeps saying it's the Democrats and the facts just don't suport that.

And big government-George Bush is the biggest government spender ever, with Homeland security, many new government intelligence programs.

George Bush privatizes in the name of capitalism but only a few companies reap the results.

If republicans really did what you state, I would support them at least sometimes. But they just don't.

I have plenty of facts you probably don't want to hear. Sad times.

Government control over privatization?

The only thing worse than having the government in control is having a few elite companies getting no bid contracts. Corporations would rather have the government eliminate the competition for them(That's the no-bid part. Haliburtan or Blackwater were just "chosen"). There is no free market at work there, as they would have you believe. Thus, no cost savings either.

you're assuming the Republicans artwork homogeneous. they don't look to be. they are created from the wealthy fat cats who have been each and every of the Republicans formerly the early 60's. Then, the Republicans necessary votes. They went after the huge inhabitants of racist, gun loving, non secular, anti-abortion detrimental white southerners. They talked approximately because it the southern approach. This area of the GOP desires help from the blue states. The fat cats who run the social gathering do not.

I disagree with your initial statement. They DON'T want the same end results. Democrats want to control YOUR activity. Republicans want each of them to control thier OWN activity.
Democrats want BIG tyrannical Government and their agencies to dictate what you can eat, drive, smoke, where you can live how much you can earn, how much you can own, spend, how much energy you can use, what you can hunt, fish, if you are a vegetarian, what medicine, what surgery, if you live or die, get aborted, euthanized, etc. etc.
Republicans think you are better suited to determine what is best for you. That opens the door to many other problems. You have to be responsible for every decision. Taken to extremes, you have to know everything and be able to do everything. In today's increasingly complex world, that is impossible. You then have to hire others to do some of those jobs for you. You could hire a fraudulent contractor, doctor, lawyer....
Government has proven itself incompetent at regulating and managing, and they certainly are inefficient. Especially with handling your money. They also tend to become more and more tyrannical as they grow larger and more powerful.

Personally, I prefer to assume responsibility for myself. If I screw up, that's MY fault.
Why pay the Government to screw it up FOR you?

If you are alluding to hillaries attempt at health care reform then you are not someone who is living the need for it.... All states were given the ability through the federal government to offer $5 a month health insurance for all children if the family earned too much for medicaid benefits but too little to afford private pay.... The only states that don't offer it are the states that insisted that those families earning 70,000 can buy it as well. THe fed said no because those people can make better choices with their money and afford private pay....They don't need new cars every two three years, get a beater, they don't need to vacation at resorts and travel on cruises...

Example I earn less than 23,000 a year, I work full time and I have choosen to drive a 14 year old car, I have choosen not to dine out three times a week and I bag my lunches as well as my sons lunch.... What opportunites have those choices afforded me... My son has gone to a private school all his life, we go on great camping vacations, and we have alot of family time...

I don't get nor expect the governement to pay my way. I do expect that the medical community stop charging me uninsured three times what they charge insurance companies for the same exact tests...

I am tired of people who make 70,000 or more complaining that they need college tuition breaks and healthcare breaks....Stop spending 100 a month for cable tv. stop buying or leasing new cars and paying high car insurance get a beater and get plpd car insurance for 40 dollars a month.....

Unlike the Democrats, we Republicans recognize that the Market is a force that can not be overcome. Rather than trying to circumvent the Market with command economy measures we Republicans recognize the need to accommodate and adjust to Market forces. The Market after all, is us. How can we overcome ourselves? The only way the Democrats will be successful is by exerting almost total control over us all, this isn't Liberty.

Both republicans and democrats are more concerned with staying in power than helping the American people. There is a circle of corruption in Washington DC that perpetuates this. Each party needs the other as a boogy man to scare the people into voting their way. Blackwater is a good example of privatization. Do you like how that's going?
This country badly needs a viable third party!

I don't think that one is necessarily better than the other, I think is is a question of how we are socialized. If our family was dependent for its survival on something bigger than itself, (big companies or unions), then we would tend to think that problems ought to be solved by something bigger than us, the government. If however, our family was dependent on itself for survival, (farmers and merchants), then we would be inclined to look to ourselves for solutions.
Women have, for generations been taught from birth to depend on the men in their families for survival, (someone bigger than them). As a result, they tend to look for someone bigger than them, to solve political problems as well. This is changing, but it takes a long time to change the mindset of generations.
To say that one is better than the other is like saying that men are better than women, or big companies are better than individual entrepreneurs. There is a place for both, and there is a necessity for both.

My Ideology is better because it at least has a chance of succeeding for the long run.
Dems seem to only be worried about the short term. They offer no long term solutions and in fact may be encouraging disaster with some of their policies and entitlement programs.
