How to Burn a CD
Windows XP makes it easy to burn CDs of your music, documents, pictures, and other files. With Windows XP, you don't need any other software to burn CDs.

Whether you want to burn CDs of music, documents, pictures or other file types, the basic procedure you'll follow is the same. First, you'll copy the files to a temporary holding area. Next, you'll use the CD Writing Wizard to burn the CD.

You will need a CD burner and a rewritable CD, but if you have Windows XP, you won't need any other software to burn CDs.

1. Insert CD-R into your CD/DVD Re-Writer Drive.
2. Go to My Computer, Double Click on the CD Drive to open.
3. Open the folders where you want to get the pictures and docs.
4. Select all the files you want and right click and click copy.
5. Paste the items into the CD-R Drive you opened before.
6. Click File and Write Files to Disk.
7. Follow the steps on screen, you can just click Next on those.
8. Then wait for the files to be written to disk and finalise.
9. Once done, click Finish and the disk should eject.
10. Done!

you need a burning tool, there are lots of them free in the internet like nero or ulead but first, you have to have a cd writer or dvd writer. or, if you're running on windows xp, insert a blank disc on your writer and in the windows explorer, there's an option to write the files in a cd. just follow the steps and you can save your important files. or, if you don't know how to save it through burning, try backing up your files on an external hard disk. for me, that's the best way to save your files when your pc crashes.
