An exhibitionist gets nude for the purpose of exposing their naked body to other people and getting some sort of response or attention from it. Nudists get naked because they feel more comfortable without clothes.

In my understanding a nudist is someone that is more than comfortable in their own skin and enjoys being naked, and this does not need to be in the company of others. An exhibitionist however, gets off on being viewed naked by others.

A nudist enjoys being naked and is comfortable with them selves. They do not care if anyone is around to see them.
An exhibitionist wants to be seen. This person will but themselves in a situation to be "caught". They look for opportunities to show themselves off. They usually get sexually excited when they are seen.

Exhibitionists perform for the entertainment of others, and nudists don't necessarily perform for the entertainment of others, but may very well do so if they choose.

The difference is in the venue and the exposure. Am exhibitionist enjoys publically displaying his or her genitalia, while the nudist is someone who enjoys being naked for the feeling of being naked and does it in private locations.

an nudist likes to be nude(duh) but they usualy do it in private communities with other like minded people.
In pupblic a nudist will most i the time ( i hope) wear clothes and act normal, an exibitionist will be like a normal person, usualy with a trench coat on and will be naked under it, exibitionist = exibition = showing off an exibitionist will want to show off his naked self, a nudist wont is other don't want to.

i am a nudist
i like being nude at home or at the beach
i wouldnt consider myself an exhibishionist
even though i like girls looking at my naked body
there are plenty of prudes that would never get nude in public dues to religion , narrow mindedness etc yet they are exhibishionists
there are plenty of girls who like to wear bikinis or hort skirts or tight tops and get off with guys looking at them and they are still in my book exhibishionists
