I guess I would see it as a virtue, and I would define it as harmless, lacking guilt, absent of evil. There's also the type of innocence that means "lack of experience" which I wouldn't characterize as being a virtue or flaw.
I am completely turned off by any use of a phrase like "losing one's innocence," or "the innocent children," when describing somebody losing their virginity, being victimized, or when used for political gain.

I would define it as inexperienced, untried and naive. If you're under 25 and still innocent, it could be a virtue. Over 30 and it becomes a flaw.

It is a virtue because the innocent one hasn't been tainted.
It is also a flaw because naivete leaves one wide-open to be taken advantage of.

Virtue. I see innocence as pureheartedness, without prejudice or pre-judgement, open, curious, child-like in approach to life and new things, but not childish.
