Birth control is a much better and less violent solution. Too bad humans are too selfish and short sighted to really manage their population that way.

Euthanasia "'to get rid of societies least wanted'" could be called genocide, demographic cleansing, which is immoral, not civilized, and highly frowned upon and considered to be a war crime when it IS conducted, for instance, such as in Rwanda and in Germany under Hitler.

The societies you speak of can be made up of any segment of humanity that will be 'designated'----- the old, the weak, the tall, the short, those with black hair, the infirm, amputees, those that hate ice cream, males, or females.
So where would YOU start?
By any stretch of the imagination, how could something like this be 'voluntary' ?

No. The problem is who decides. There have been many societies and governments that have "cleansed' their nations. The most notable in history would be the Nazi regime, but they are not at all alone. The government should not have the power to decide on the worthiness of humans to live.

At sometime in their lives, almost all people will fall into this category, perhaps when they are babies, or when they are old, or any time they become dependent. I believe that it is a measure of the society, how these, the least among us are taken care of. If we kill all who are not as productive as they might be than we are little more than barbarians.
Perhaps it is time to read "Soylent Green".

No, I know a lot of Democrats who would euthanize Republicans if they had the opportunity. But seriously, that is what Hitler did, he determined who he thought was desirable, but he was wrong, he killed some of his best people and some came to the U.S. and helped win WWII.

Euthanasia is a very slippery slope, so it should not be condoned by anyone.
