Wishful thinking for the non-smokers. But I highly doubt it. If that law does pass, every other person would get fined, then they'll laugh and ignore it. So what's the point? The governement would have a better chance at banning tobacco all together, but again wishful thinking for the non-smokers.

Here, where I live, your not allowed to smoke in your car if you have kids under a certain age with you. And they are trying to pass that law here too. I think it should pass if you have kids living with you, in the house. It's proven 2nd hand smoke is worse than actually smoking, because the person that is smelling the smoke doesn't have the filter to take out some of the bad stuff.

I haven't heard about this but I wouldn't smoke in the house anyway, even if I were a smoker. I've seen nicotine build up on windows and walls and it's not a pretty sight if you like to keep your home in a nice condition. I've heard of no smoking laws within public facilities but not residential homes....

If by "House" you mean "House of Representatives", yes. If by "House" you mean a personal residence, no way. It'll never fly.

I am for it if it affects others, especially kids. It will of course never fly and even if it did. How could it be enforced. It is a bit ridiculous to think that it would be adhered to.

They need to fix Social Security first.....
If they want people to live longer, and they lose billions of dollars per year in 'sin tax' money directly from tobacco sales, they better be able to support the healthier retirees....

this is very unlikely, it would be an invasion of human rights for a start. public places are a different issue, do not worry this will not happen :)

No wonder our government is in shambles.
I hope they learn to direct their attention to important matters.
They could just ban cigarettes, if they are SO concerned.

that's going way too far... I can totally understand public buildings, etc. but if you own your home, they shouldn't be able to tell you what you can and can't do in it
