I have lived my life just dreaming of owning one. I have always been fascinated with them and the life style that follows a person who owns one. Unfortunately, I was never able to afford one. Now I am 53 and it is my last dream. Can anyone make that possible for me?

I'm glad to see someone on here looking for a real bike. The idiots that talk them down have no idea what they're even talking about.Harleys are not top heavy and do not break down all the time.If they do break down the parts are much cheaper to buy than jap parts are. They are easy to work on yourself if you buy a good shop manual. The custom parts are almost unlimited so you can personalize your bike to be exactly what you want.Don't settle for one of those jap crap bikes or you'll never be satisfied.Good luck on your search,I hope you find the one you're looking for..See ya on the road.

You've probably accumulated alot of crap in 53 years, start eBaying it off and buy a bike. OR hey, 53 is NOT too old to have a part-time job or something, work extra hours and buy one, it's not like you want a 10 million dollar mansion or something, just a bike, you can probably find a decent used one for 10 grand or new ones are more like 15K, what the hell, buy a bike if that's your last big goal in life. Set your goals and then work towards them, life sure as hell aint gonna drop a Harley in your lap, Bud. Well, maybe, but shiit your 53, stop daydreaming, work your asss off a few months and buy a Harley! You can still work your asss off if you have too, right?? Your not a fossil or something yet, right? I hope not cuz I'm not far behind you and I work my asss off most every day of my life yet.

Just go to a dealer and talk to them about it. See what kind you want. The cheaper sportster on the bottom end can be had new for around 200 a month. Go talk to a dealer they see people like you regular. If you do not have riding experience get some before you purchase a bike that cost much. You do not want to get locked into a payment and not like the bike. A good idea also would be to rent one for a day and see if you really like it before you purchase one. A good sales person will find a bike for you that you can afford and help with the finance. Go get started.

I honestly would not believe what these people are telling you about HD's being so bad. My Dad has a Sporty, and an Ultra Classic Electraglide.......Both are great, with very minimal problems, if that's what you want to call them!!! You will have basic maintenance on any bike you buy, and if you don't keep up with it, the bike will go to crap!!! These people here that keep saying that only morons own them, are morons who can't afford one!!!!! I think it's great that you are living out your life dreams!!!!

Make your own lifestyle rather than leaching off of a crappy bikes image which is that of moronic jerk anyway. Get a bike thats worth it and make your own lifestyle out of it. It really isn't that hard unless of course your already a moronic loser in which case if you buy a harley you'll still just be a moronic loser with a Harley like everyone else who owns one.

Dude, HD's suck....overpriced, too heavy, in the shop all the time and repairs cost more just because it's an HD...........go for a Honda shadow....way more dependable and they were modeled after the HD

you will be happier believe me...

i used to own a HD, and once I always dreamed of owning one, biggest mistake i ever made, it always broke down, it cost me a fortune to keep it on the road, then when I wanted to get rid of it nobody wanted to buy it.
Any of the major Japanese brands are far better and much more reliable than a HD
