I picked up my new phone and I heard someone on the other line. A woman was complaining about some shoddy work that the plumber had done in her home. She said the pipe still leaked and the plumber didn't clean up the mess he made (left solder on the floor and had also tracked clunks of mud all over her floor). She was furious. I recognized her voice after a few seconds and I tried to talk but she couldn't hear me. I found out later that I had to change the frequency on the phone so that didn't happen again. (Would have been more fun if the conversation was more interesting!! LOL!)

I did a couple of times and usually after we have had rain (The telephone providers says that the line somehow becomes crossed) and I am not living in the States where people don't seem to be familiar with their neighbours. I heard one of my neighbour chatting a church sister with another and they were not saying pleasant things either so I had to call the one who I was more familiar with and warned her as I did not know how many other persons could have been hearing the same conversation.
I have been pretty careful since whenever rain falls

True-sort of. My Brother bought a handheld scanner from a Yard sale that could pick up cell phone conversations. We listened and could here lots of different conversation. Most conversations are so boring we never did hear anything good. Most went like this "What do you want for dinner? How was work?" "Hope you have a good day." Boring.

True. Some thirteen years back, I heard my neighbor talking through his mobile set. Complete conversation was audible on my portable radio set. This happened only once.In those days mobile phones were just introduced here.
