when i was in my teens i couldn't wait to leave home, i have older children of my own now and they feel the same. Having said that, my mother is getting old now and i worry about her allot. i would have my mother move in with me in a blink of the eye if she was not able to care for herself, she is a wonderful mother and cared for us through thick and thin, and i will do the same for her x x

I love my parents but I do not want to live in the same place as my parents. Though they are great, and if I had to live with them it wouldn't be that complicated, I greatly appreciate our society's taboo on living with parents. By being a bit pressured by society to move out on my own I am able to learn so much more about what kind of person I am and how much effort goes in to maintaining your home. I don't think I would have learned how to cook if I had stayed home, my mom would always insist of taking care of that. Parents are great...but so is the growing experience of living away from them.

Lol..well, some people do live with their parents forever. The thing is that you are to go out on your own to start a new family or whatever but some people never leave their parents home. This question reminded me of the movie failure to launch.

I'm allowed that by society. Honestly I like living with my mom we get along. I love her alot. But I would like to be able to move out on my own. I've been living with my folk(s) most of my life and I want so much to be able to get out on my own. I'm sure I'd miss mom family but I know if I could I would make it on my own. But I never seem to be able to make it happen.

hi, angel. firstly it depends on whats your choice is. Let me comfire, Are they your parents or in-laws ? If parents, why would you want to live away from them ? They have done their duties now i think its your turn. Anyways if its your in-laws then the best way is to stay togeather, in a same building but in different houses. By this you have your own freedom at the same time you will be their togeather in difficult times.

My parents would let me live with them if I wanted, but I really don't want to. There's too much of a power struggle. If I live in their house, then they think that they should have a say in what I do and how I act in their house....which they should. I'd rather just visit and make my home how I like it.

We are allowed by society. No one says, "You have to move out as soon as you're eighteen!" However, the decision would not be completely mine to make if I wanted to live with my parents. My wife would not want to do that...they...clash a little bit.

LIve on my own. As soon as I did. I didn't wanna go home. I'd save more money but I would much rather make the rules then have to break them.

I would much prefer to be homeless than live with my parents.
They say you cant go home again, and I believe it's true.
My Mother is psychotic and controlling .
That is why I wouldnt live with her.
Also, I am an adult with my own family.
