In reply to your question, you would have to study the nomads of the worlds deserts, be it the Sahara, Kalahari, or The great Australian desert where temperatures during the day reach 50°C and fall to below freezing at night. Clothing, water, and keeping on the move are all vitally important.

Several studies comparing the heat tolerances of men and women have concluded that women are generally less heat tolerant than men. The limit is between 35 and 40 degrees centigrade.
The risk of heat-related illness varies from person to person. Older and obese people are generally at higher risk.

In the Sauna World Championships the temperature starts at 110 degrees, many come out with first degree burns at this temperature, but you can only stand it for a few minutes.
