depends on your base line.
everest is measured from sea level.
under sea mountains are measured from peak to base.
if you use the undersea base line everest would be 2 1/2 times the height it is quoted at.

Hi,
1.Mount Everest:
The "Highest Altitude" 8,848 meters (29,028 feet) above sea level.
2.Mauna Kea:
The "Tallest Mountain" has an altitude of 4,205 meters (13,796 feet) - much lower than Mount Everest. However, Mauna Kea is an island and if the distance from the bottom of the nearby ocean floor to the peak of the island is measured, then Mauna Kea is taller than Mount Everest.
Mauna Kea is over 10,000 meters tall compared to 8,848 meters for Mount Everest - making it the world's tallest mountain.

The one you refer to under the sea cannot possibly be higher than even the smallest hill above sea level. If you mean base to peak, then you must already know.
