what about the hard working people who really need to be housed??
this is wrong!
.. my lord so us hard working folk have to struggle through.
because of this i will never be housed and will need to rent privatly until i kill someone, get run over or have babies... which i dont plan on doing!
Because of this im struggling, when the contract im at now runs out then i will have to find somewhere else to live (im not allowed to renew my contract) i can afford weekly rent but i have no money to put down on a deposit...(there asking for £2500 before you even move in) which means im going to find myself on the street pretty soon!
The council doesnt even give homeless people 1st priority.. god damn!
what do you do if you are trying to get rented accomodation but cant afford to pay the deposit??
should i go and hold a knife at someones neck and beg them to call the police so that i can get put down for attemptive murder?
at least by doing this i would get a place to live!!

the £2500 is for contract fees, referee fees, deposit fee, holding desposit fee, application fees, 6 weeks rent in advance fees.
how the hell can you pay this?
im not whining about getting a place for free.. im saying how unethical it is for the councils scheme!
the place i want is affordable.. i said i can afford the rent, but everything together no!
i live in london by the way... not all of us are lucky enough to be in your cosy possision

You only just found that out?
You get nothing out of this country if you:
1. Have worked all your life and paid your way. Tax/Insurance/Bills etc.
2. Have Managed to save for a 'rainy day'.
3. Managed to save and buy your own home.
4. Married.
5. Married and brought up your family living with your wife to give the children a stable home and good manners/respect for others and themselves.
6. Not committed a crime and are a law abiding citizen.
7. Do not beat up your wife
8. Are able and willing to pay your rent.
9. And I could go on and on....
Isn't it just great to be British and only have the one passport.............!!.

I dont know what its like where you are, but I`m a divorced male, who works and went on the council list, was housed after about 1 mounth in a great maisonette, with very good neighbours, so i guess i all depends where you live, i was born and bred in West London, Hounslow to be precise, i wouldnt have stood a chance there, ( i know the reason why, not cause im single ), so i moved to the north welsh border, and here i`m gonna stay

Seeing as your would be on low earnings you are going to be waiting to declare housing income to help pay the lease. you may get a variety from you shut by council. Are you already on the housing sign in? The waiting lists are truly long, and in case you have already got someplace to stay that's sufficiently massive then you definately would be waiting even longer. I have been given my council domicile final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days and function went on the housing record in 2003. As we inner maximum rented a 2 mattress domicile they don't type you as being in instantaneous choose. they gained't truly do something till the toddler is born, we in basic terms have been given ours some months after my third toddler grow to be born, and that grow to be in basic terms while you evaluate that they had outfitted a load of recent homes so had particularly some waiting for the persons close to the real of the record. it may be superb to enable your land lord understand that the lease may be slightly previous due mutually as they're processing your declare, yet that he gets the money. we've in basic terms purely began claiming reward as my husband lost his interest, we paid for each thing ourselves up earlier. however the version in lease between a private domicile and a council domicile is extensive.

My ex husband and I were on the council list for years with no chance of ever getting a place to live even though we had a baby in a one roomed flat.
I understand they have to look after the more vulnerable in society ie those with children and disabilities but it does seem unfair that the likes of you and me don't get a look in.
My mum has a small flat in a block meant for the elderly or disabled...all the other 15 flats are now filled with asylum seekers!!
My ex and I had to get on the mortgage ladder, we had no choice.
I wish you luck!

i think you are over exaggerating the facts. the local authority have a duty to help you. You can apply for homelessness status in your position, then the council have to find you somewhere even if its only temporary accomodation.
Ask also if they will help you with a deposit, some councils have a scheme where they will lend money for a deposit.

£2,500 before you move in?? What sort of place are you lookin for?
I ahve a couple of nice 2 bed flats just outside London which I rent out and I ak for 1month deposit and 1 month upfront which is only £1,400. Maybe, before you start whinging, try looking at places you can afford rather than whining about not getting a free house.
Edit: That is still more than is reasonable, just have more realistic expectations and use the deposit you get returned from your current place (assuming you haven't trashed it).

I know it is ridiculous they have a certain scheme that allows you to pay them off instead of a mortgage try looking into that because you don't have to be disabled, pregnant or a criminal
