I'd have left 20 minutes ago. Not treating me like a puppet on a string!

A wise man once said "Punctuality is the courtesy of Kings"
As my mother said to me "You aren't and never will be in that league"; yes, I have been late due to a missed bus or one that didn't turn up at all. Mobile phones are a pretty modern invention and the first ones some 20 years ago were like carrying a whole telephone exchange around with you, so you couldn't contact people to apologise.
The onus is then on you to be on time; it is also on someone else not to be discourteous.
I wouldn't bother to wait more than 20 minutes. "There will be another number 7 bus along shortly"!

Half an hour is the longest I would wait unless the other person has contacted me somehow to let me know they'll be late. I wouldn't call or text to find out where they are; the onus is on them to contact me and apologise. And then buy all the drinks to make up for it.

Everyone today has a cell phone. There is no excuse ( except a major accident or an arrest, where they confiscate your phone ), not to call someone to let them know you will be late. Half an hour is long enough. Any longer and you will embarrass yourself.

I'm getting my coat. I'll wait 25 mins and then think about leaving. If it's a good relationship then a date can wait for another time.

I would ring or text first.
If I dont get a reply or good enough answer, like he broke his foot whilst running to meet me, then Im off.

Yes! Quick, kick-start the broomstick and head for the Town Hall steps.
