i have been offered work in and around the burnaby area, and have been offered $30 per hour to start, being from the uk i dont know if this is a good wage or not, and how far this wage will get me as far as renting a place to live goes, ,the work is actually in new westminster can any body please tell me about this area many many thx and please allow me to contact you back for further details , thx again ......andy from the uk

$30 an hour would equal about $60,000 a year. That's about mid to upper income. You can definitely live off of that - rents are about $900 - $1100 for a nice place.

There's skytrain that is in New West and you can get some nice view places there. They have some nice areas there. Oh, and if you're used to the size of UK apartments, you will be pleasantly surprised at how much LARGER Canadian places are!

$30 and hour is a good wage, especially if it is "to start"; chances are it will go up after a probationary period of 3 months. Burnaby is a really nice area to live in (my sister has lived there for years). If the job is in New West, you could live there as well, although I think Burnaby is nicer. Skytrain will get you there.

$ 30.00 is good you dont say what your doing..,Bus Drivers get $ 25.00 to start police officers start at $ $4000.00 per year. Rent will be 600.00 plus
