Flo-Masters always work nicely on older cars and they are not as obnoxiously loud as cherry bomb glass-packs types of options.

Also they are fairly inexpensive.

If you have a V8 (I am assuming you do) You should be really happy with a duel 2 chamber flo-master set up.

They are said to increase HorsePower something like 25 HP but that is magazine HP as my friends call it.....Unless you do headers too then I wouldn't expect over 10 HP increase unless you had a real bad issue creating the need for replacing the mufflers.

They Should Cost you about $125.95 - $125.95 if they make that kind that can fit with your cars specs.
Just incase you can't find a part from flowmaster that will accomidate your car (you should) then try a full on summit duel exhaust set up from the hedder back:

I researched the details below:
SUM-680101 Summit Header-Back Dual Exhaust Systems
Exhaust System, Header-Back, Dual, 2.50 in., Aluminized Steel, Buick/ Chevy/ Oldsmobile/ Pontiac, Kit
Today $174.95

I prefer the Flomasters but either it sounds like will be an upgrade. I used a Duel Flo-Master Set up on my 1970 Challenger R/T as an improvement over the stock mufflers and resonators and they sounded awesome! Still do to this day!

Good Luck & I Hope that was helpful....have fun with it & enjoy your classic old school bud.

God Bless!

Glass packs make a lot of noise, kill exhaust flow/HP and are real popular because they are cheap and make that “Blat” sound. Flow masters make a lot of noise, Flow really good, and are really expensive. But lets face it, any Turbo Muffler will do what you need on that car. I had a 70 442 with a Very well built 455. After upgrading from the Mr. gasket Turbo muffler to the Flow master mufflers, I did not see any difference on my drag slips; I did however get more than a few tickets for making to much noise. And one more thing, it does not get any better than having a mad/loud wife, solid motor mounts, stop and go traffic in rush hour, and Flow Master Mufflers. (but a toothache may help)
Crossover pipes X pipes and the difference:
H pipes help, unless you have done some real work to the Engine like buying a Mendelo performance intake so you can put the big block heads on that 350, Or take the diesel block bore it .175 over and stick a 425 crank in for 478cid, I would not worry about it. Olds Motors are torque monsters, not High revving air breathing HP kings. Getting that 2ton car to stop and go around corners is a far bigger concern than a tinny bit of backpressure in the exhaust. I would take my x pipe money and spend it on a rear sway bar.

Hi!

I would say Flowmaster Mufflers, however (if you have an open mind), I would go with Magnaflow mufflers. This is because they are made of stainless steel and not aluminized steel like the flowmasters. And they also have a deeper sound (because of this).

And x pipe always helps, and it will change the sound a little. It usually makes the pitch get a little higher.

Feel free to ask me anything else if you have any other questions!

Watch out the rest of the car will want attention too! Flow master is the way to go. Glas-paks burn out to fast. Replace everything from those new COOK's headers back to the tail pipe.
