ok, here is my problem

i keep getting disconnected from a mmorpg game i play, i have wireless, the reason i know its wireless is because i can play fine using the wire, but due to the fact i have 2 pcs in my room and our router is already full of wires, i have to use wireless for one of my pcs, i can play for about 3 or 4 minutes but then get disconnected, i dont know if its the game but i do get disconnected not playing a game but its more like 10 or 15 minites when im not playing, any ideas of what causes this and how to fix it?

i do not live alone, i have a modem which connects to the router which then has 4 slots for eternet then wireless, i have a dlink router and a dlink wireless connecter. i use the other computer to play the mmorpg, yes, i use 2 pcs to play 1 game only for the purpose of having a healer,

When there is too much wireless activity like too many wireless router then that might happen.

You would have to increase your wireless strength otherwise you have to deal with the connection.

Wireless and gaming can be, as in your case, not fully compatible. If your connection is dropping and you can, the best solution is to add an other wired connection for your gaming machines.

Get a five port switch and add it behind the router! Then connect the machines. That switch will allow you to add another four machines to the routers system. (you use one port to connect to the router.) Your problem will be gone!.. They can usually be found for less than 20.00.

Now if you insist on staying wireless, change channels at the router and see if you find one that works better. The issue probably isn't signal level, it will be "noise" level (which you can't see). When the two of those are too close together, you will be dropped for a second and that will kill the game.

Just remember, wires in this case will always be better than wireless. You can get a faster wireless router and higher speed cards but even that may not let your games work.
