Put out peanut butter and berry suet all day long. I have two squirrel families in my backyard and they eat more in a day than my cats eat in a week. Little Gluttons. Course, I know they are "squirreling" it away for the winter. Thanks for letting me in on "Squirrel Day". I had no idea. ;)

I've got a mixed bag squirrels here. Some black, some gray and flying squirrels at night. Maybe next week I will stop yelling at the thieving little creeps. The usually ignore me anyway, so I can save some breath. Some of them back off only ten feet away when I fill the feeder, they twitch tail at me if I take too long.

Is this a joke?
We love watching squirrels and always scream "It's a squirrel!" like freaks if we see them..
They are however classed as vermin in the UK and if one is captured/rescued for whatever reason, they are not allowed to be released back into the wild.
I am happy to let them find their own way in life. No doubt they will be storing all they can at the moment getting ready for hibernation.
EDIT: Incidently, did you see Beth Ditto saying on Jonathan Ross how her family eat them? ewwww!!

Unfortunately I managed to run down two of them on the same morning trip out in my car - so you are asking the wrong person!
I tried to swerve to avoid one and managed to hit it then the next one I didn't swerve as I thought it would move and I hit that one - literally within 2 minutes of the other. Even worse was 5 minutes after that I hit a pigeon - it flew into the windscreen! What a mornng that was - weird - the only other thing I have killed in my car are frogs (they were all over the road so unavoidable but very sad - made me feel sick listening to them pop) and also one cat. That was awful but I did stop and try to save its life (it died in my arms - at least it wasn't alone).

Give them a bye for the week...i.e. not throw rocks at them. Seriously, we have so many of the pesky things around here they're like rats.
