what the heck do you call this it's on the tip of my tounge I just can't quite remember.

'Synchronous', 'phase-locked', 'in-phase', 'coherent'. Those are the ones that come to mind.

Sounds like the waves are 'in-phase' with each other causing the effect of constructive interferance.
