divide both sides by half
x-11 = 24
x = 24 + 11
= 35


i don't understand what you were doing, but you got the right answer anyway.

Ya u r right but u can opt this one for an easy one - check out

open the brackets first (multiply wid 1/2)
1/2x - 11/2 = 12
(x - 11) /2 = 12
x - 11 = 24 (coss multiply)
x = 24+11
x = 35

I don't understand what you're doing either, but it's right.
If 1/2(x-11) =12
then x-11=12 x 2=24
x=24+11=35.

to those who didn't understand what she was doing, she distributed, added 5.5 to both sides to get rid of it on the left side, then divided everything by 1/2 to get x by itself.

and you did it right, good job

.5(x-11)=12
x-11=12/.5
x-11=24
x=24+11
x=35

.5(35-11)=12
.5(24)=12
