Excellent Speech !!!!!! (standing ovation given)
What a change that made - let us hope Bin Laden and his dumb followers, take heed..... The woman has said it in a nutshell...the most sensible speech of this time. I congratulate her!!!!!
Thank you - Have a star for bringing this to our attention.

Well, she's obviously a very intelligent, strong minded woman with her own point of view, which of course she is entitled to. And I do love to see an articulate woman speaking out for her beliefs.
The video itself isn't new though, it's been doing the email rounds for a while. I first saw it about 12 months ago, and it is only an excerpt from a debate style tv show, in which a couple of men also spoke.
It's interesting that such a debate could be aired on public tv with a woman speaking so openly ~ is does show that Muslim women DO speak out, and are not 'voiceless', as we are often told. At least, some women.
It's really worth seeing, thanks ! :-)
Edited to add: She has her own webpage! A couple of others references, too, including a critique (see below).
BTW, this was filmed early in 2006 and she's still alive and well!

I must confess that i think we in the western world do not really appreciate life and conditions in countries like these, especially for women and find it difficult to believe that this is viewed as such an accomplishment as it is merely common sense & courtesy here, time for a MASSIVE education i think, only then MIGHT things change, although you are talking about thousands of years of tradition here, it wont change easily, if at all, sadly

I'm not sure if this is "at last" at all.
There are Muslims all over the world... surprisingly, many of them are women!
I have Muslim female friends here in the United States and they talk about current events and their religion all the time. No one is speaking out.

before I watched the clip I thought it was gonna be a bunch of pro-muslim , kiil the infidels b/s. But I was wrong , that lady is an intelligent speeker and makes alot of good points. I agree good speech.
Unfortunatly if she still lives in a Muslim country that little speech may cost her her life.

It makes me wander how long will she even be allowed to talk. But hey she did great and let people hear her. I live in Germany and they did not show that to us so this was the first time of me even seeing or hearing such a thing. Wonderful. I hope that more women of her sort get enough guts and start standing up for the truth. Hallelujah.

I thought the speech was absolutely Brilliant!!.I think she Is a "Very Brave, and courageous person", to speak out like that.
The other person, in the clip was totally speechless with "Her Effort". I only wish with all my heart, there was Many, Many more like her In our Ars...... up world.

she's not a ''muslim woman'', she's an ex Muslim woman (or so she says), and that wasn't a speech it was a rant. She didn't make any valid points she just kept attacking and being hateful. Imagine if I go to someone who's an ex Christian or Who's an ex Believer in Judiasim and I ask them to teach me about their previous religions !!!! How Ridiculious would that be, it's the same here... listening to this woman and taking her word about Islam is just as valid. Btw I highly doubt that she was ever Muslim, she looks ALOT like the Christian arabs..
