So you're a psych major who wants to go to medical school? You have to inquire about the medical school you're interested in and their requirements for getting in. I would guess you would need to pass an exam similar to the MCAT, get at least 2 good recommendation forms, and possibly volunteer experience at a hospital if you hope to become a pediatrician.

You will need to talk to your school counsellor or advisor to make sure that you're taking the right courses required for your program and required for the program you want to get into for the future.

To become a pediatrician you have to:
1. get your bachelor's degree
2. get your medical degree
3. get your specialization in pediatrics

-Make sure you get all your required subjects.

Your school should answer this. The requirements to be a psych major should be in the course catalog, but if it's not, there should be a counselor at school who can tell you what the requirements are. A pediatrician needs a bachelor's degree first and then four years of medical school, then further training. Usually a bachelor's degree is about four years, but it depends on how much of your community college work transferred, and then it depends on whether you can fulfill the requirements for a degree in four years. There is an associate's degree before the bachelors, but that's usually only offered by community colleges as a way of saying you did two years' worth of work. Ask your college for help.

An Associates Degree (2 year degree from a community college) comes first. Then a Bachelors Degree comes next and that is 4 years worth of college. Talk to a guidance counselor at your current college.

It is normal of not being sure of what you want to do with your life. Psychology is a clever field, for it covers a lot. You could therefore work closely with people in other fields etc.

This obviously depends on where you are from and doing the studies, but most commonly..

You finish college around age 18.
Start Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology = 3 years
- that alone doesn't give you any psych rights.

So you'll have to do a Master in Psychology (MA) = 2 years

Some schools, like Australia have 4th year preceding the masters, but Europe and US usually don't. Post grad degrees in Great Britain are as well sometimes shorter; a year up to two years.

After MA degree you can practice as a psychologist.

PHD and Doctorate of Clinical Psychology are two other degrees that are the highest level of psychology, and usually varies from 3 to 4 years. PHD being a research degree (only doing a research project) but the Clin.psych one has courses and research.

I recommend you to go to your school counselor or adviser to find out what you want to do.

Good luck!

You can get a 2 year degree from a junior or community college. an AA or AS

a 4 year degree is what most peole get a college,
a BA or a BS.

then there is MA, or MS, or MBA. etc.

PhD after that.

or people go to law school or med school.
------------------

to be a pediatrician, you will need a medical degree.
A psych undergraduate degree ( BS or BA) is one path into medical school.

there should be a counseleing center where you are, and i would expect that you would have an advisor, who could also tell you if you are taking the right things.

But it looks right to me.
