Single-celled protozoa have a contractile vacuole that collects and expels excess water. This is easily seen in a large paramecium.

Single-celled bacteria just rely on their cell walls for support to keep from bursting.

first of all, there is no relation between plant cell wall and its osmotic condition, the experient about osmotic condition of plant is just aimed at seeing the distraction of the plasma and wall........
besides , there are many pump in membrane in charge of adjusting the osmotic condition outside and inside the cell...........
