I have no doubt in my mind that he will be the next scoring champ. I also want to see him as the next Defensive Player of the Year. Kobe is a well-rounded defender, and is not given enough credit on the defensive end. If he continues to play the way he did during the FIBA Americas, he could very well be the next player to win Scoring Champion AND Defensive Player of the Year! Go Lakers! Go Kobe!

You're right....he probably will be the scoring champion but along with that he'll probably only have a 42% fg, his team will win less than 40 games, they won't make the playoffs, and Kobe will find something to cry about

Personally I hope he wins it...I love kobe but his defensive presence is if anything mediocre...I wish he was better at d as this would put him closer to jordan...when he guards all stars he generally doesn't fare too well as far as guarding him...I've noticed lately a lot of top plays with top players he's guarding them as they are going right by...Wish he had some help to make the team better...idiots should have grabbed Kidd when they had the chance....also kobe has always had awesome clutch ability and way better than lebron...he's possessed it for years...playoffs and finals come to mind...a few years ago when he was a clutch player and still is...he yurns for that last shot unlike some other greats...cough cough lebron...

With a team around him that could not compete for a NAIA title, let alone NBA championship, he is going to have to put up serious points each night. It will be between him and Gilbert Arenas for the scoring title in 2007-08.

He should be. Lakers still have the same line-up, they need his scoring to stay in games, unless Bynum improves alot over last year. Otherwise, no one else in the league will or can score that much to keep the games within reach.

Yes, Kobe will beat DWade, Arenas, Amare, Joe Johnson, Carmelo and AI this year. There are no serious threats.

OK, and the Lakers will win 50 games this year. I think alot of people are underestimating them. They had too many injuries last year.

Yes because no one else on his team can score, and it's up to him to save the team every single night....yeah he'll win.
