We read that the Portuguese Policeman who was 2nd in command of the McCann case has effectively quit. ill this mean that the Portuguese will decide to give up on the case and let the McCanns off the hook. 'Victory' for the McTeam, 'Victory' for the McFanns, but a great injustice of our time, and no justice for Madeleine.

If you a wealthy enough, and have wealthy backers can you buy your way out of justice ? is this going to turn out one of the great injustices of our time ?

The true injustice in this case is that Madeleine has suffered terribly because her parents couldn't be bothered to stay in and look after her properly, and yet they aren't going to be punished in a court of law for child neglect.

I think that, in spite of everything that has happened and everything that has been said in the case or about the case, the Portuguese Police are fairly happy with the outcome of the case. You see, the whole case revolves around an English couple possibly having caused the death of an English citizen albeit in Portuguese soil. No Portuguese person was hurt and no Portuguese individual has been final under suspicion. It is all by English person on English person. So I thin that the Portuguese Police have not so much resigned to the present outcome oft he case but have concluded it in a way which is very clever. Think about it... the case has been left 'floating' with nothing concrete, BUT THE MCCANNS REMAIN OFFICIAL SUSPECTS and that is the verdict.
Hi " yahooyahooyahoo " and you're pathetic !!! And you're cute too... Portuguese Police are corrupt but the McCanns are innocent... so that makes Madeleine what ?! A myth, a figment of all our imaginations, a thing that never happened ?! And who put the body fluids inside the car, in the tyre well, of a car rented 25 days later ?! Oh, I know... the President of Portugal did... with the full complicity of the EU and Catholic church.... You're comical !!

I think we need to get things into perspective. There are pro-McCanns and anti-McCanns and neither group will be persuaded otherwise. Personally I do not like the McCanns. I do not know them but Gerry comes across as an arrogant egotist. He appears as if he is sneering when interviewed-is this "you'll never pin anything on me" or just the way he is? Although the press show pictures of Kate and kindly say she is worn out with emotion I think she looks scared-is this the strain of hiding the truth. If you are reasonably wealthy and have wealthy backers why not use this if you are innocent. On the other hand is the whole circus just a diversion to cover up their guilt. Without Maddie (dead or alive) the case is going nowhere and the McCanns will not be formally charged and stand trial. The arguments will go on and on and everyone will have their own view. Most people I have spoken to believe the McCanns are involved and if so they will get away with a hideous crime.

The mail are reporting today that British police are also CONVINCED that Madeleine died in the apartment and are working closely with the Portuguese to prove it so all may not be lost. If this case is allowed to be closed without charges despite all the evidence pointing to the McCanns, it will certainly be a real injustice to Madeleine and the 1000's of people who have been conned into sending money to look for Madeleine. I believe that the key to this case lies with the tapas 7 who should be made arguidos and have a bit of pressure put on them, especially the O'Brien/ Tanner couple. I think O'Birien could be the weak link in the chain of deceit.

Team McCann have put the spin on this policeman quitting purely because of the Madeleine investigation, they don't mention that he was going to quit through ill health or redundancy or any other reason behind him leaving, so therefore the best PR team money can buy are obviously doing a good job to show the McCanns in a good light and the Portugese police in a bad light. Policemen quit their job or change positions all the time, it's no big deal.

Lest not forget the McCanns were leaving their kids alone at night for every night during their holiday, it wasn't a one off thing, they were being watched and the kidnapper knew their exact routine.

To answer your question i have thought a lot about this and no i don't think the Portuguese will let it drop, they would have done so by now taking the easy way out instead of sticking to their guns.Admittedly I've felt the same as you lately but reading today what's coming out of Portugal re both lots of police is a sense of continuing collaboration and desire to see this through.

it seems rather dangerous, how many times has a new cop come into a case and been able to put clues together real fast. think of Al capoine it took a new guy to come along and go at him from a new angle to get him for anything. so who knows a new guy i say guy as it is most likely to be a man. have seen lots of items on portugal and the amount of female officers in high

as for cops quitting the idea the man has done it over the madeline case is just a smoke screen that the british want to think. so my big one will the top cop finally admit his men murdered an innocent man for no reason and quit too??????????????????????????????????????????????///

If this is a fight should be JUSTICE FOR MADELEINE and not if the McCanns feel good or bad, they didn't have respect to their children so they don't have my respect, at all.
If the McCanns don't be punished there are no justice.
Have a star.

'We read.....'
Its nice to know we have replaced the court system with trial by views gleamed from newspaper. Its so much more entertaining and fairer than that fussy rigorous collecting of evidence and court thingy. Makes you proud to be a British citizen.

Well, it has always been claimed there is one rule for the rich and one for the poor...

If the McCanns were a family on social credit living on a council estate in Romford i'm sure they wouldn't have had the same tollerance from the media and/or public.

I however have my opinions, and after recent consideration have decided to keep them to myself.

I have my opinion on the McCanns, others have theirs...

The police in portugal obviously are quite a bumbling lot compared to ours in Britain.

Only 3 people could know the truth for certain kate, gerry or maddy....

the rest of us merely speculate and elaborate
