I think you're totally normal. Welcome to the club.

Absolutely nothing wrong with you. Thousands of people feel the same way. It's best however to try and get past it. There are little things you can do to help. Try these,
1) smile at a stranger on the street.
2)Next time your at a store, ask the cashier how his/her day is going.
3) If you don't know what to say to someone in a social setting, ask them about themselves. (people love to talk about themselves and they will find you pleasant just for asking and seeming interested).
4)Try and force yourself into social settings, even if it's just for a little while.(Have a back up plan in place for a smooth get away if things are not going well).
Hang in there hun, your just as normal (or abnormal) as the rest of us.

NO! Not at all, most millionaires today did exactly what you are doing, and because they excelled in their studies and went on to college, they are now filthy rich, where as the high school jock that was very social and all the girls were after him because he did well in the sports, are either professional athletes now or bag boys in some grocery store.

Please do continue to do what you have been doing and you will become very rich and will have all the girls chasing after you, because you will be attractive to them for the wealth that you can generate for them.

No because if you do good in school nothing else is not really needed, but don't get too comfortable you need some social skills. I learned to open my mouth more and i am doing pretty good now.

I had the same problem but it doesn't bother me. Speaking out isn't a bad thing unless if your making yourself look stupid while doing it.

Hey baby, that's alright - that's what we call people who make it in life! You're in h.s. now, you'll come into your own & shine in the very near future. You'll see there's a whole world out there that is very different than high school, and you'll be a shining star in that world! Just wait & see! Oh & don't forget to have a lot of fun! Good luck to you & enjoy!

No, brainy kids are usually shy. I had an aquaintence who mastered...I mean...totally whooped the PSAT but couldn't hardly talk because of extreme shyness. She was offered a free ride to Harvard.

No. You're smart but shy. Ask your parents if you can talk with a therapist who can give you advice & exercises to help overcome your shyness.

It's your personality type. Take this test: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp
It's crazy accurate.
I'm the same way. Nothing is wrong, it's just the way you are.
