Obviously your question has to do with some belief system; and in such a case (inane or not) why not connect and gather information from those most directly involved in whatever that belief system encompasses.
If I'm wrong then certainly DIY is not exactly a place where your answers will be much different than number one,,,which by the way is completely on target for the general sense of your question.
I also wonder if perhaps you aren't in the US; or Canada; and have you checked the various countries flags/links; to find an area where you might get more viable suggestions; OR another "category"???
With all due respect; if I allowed my life to be so strictly Directed; I'd likely stagnate.

What difference does the date make? Is this some kind of superstition?
Doesn't education teach you to value making decisions based on facts and observation as opposed to honoring centuries-old, primitive belief systems?
Move in whenever it's convenient, this is 2007 A.D.!

Whether you want to move a bookshelf or any other kind of shelf in DIY it does not matter - what the dates are.
