As with any chemical there is dangers. Most of the answers are correct in that roundup will damage almost anything.
Keep well within the directions on the packet. Use protective clothing and keep animals away.
Having said that, on farm, we spray in the same paddock as the stock, and have never had any deaths, or illness in the livestock.
Have sprayed several types of lawn successfully, but have a friend that sprayed with double strength and the lawn grew back. The spray burnt the leaves without any penetration into the root system.
We also spray in light drizzling rain and it still works. Usually about 10 - 15 minutes contact without rain will kill most ground weeds.
Some people and animals are very sensitive, so take precautions.
Roundup works it way into the root system. It does not have a residual effect, which many other chemicals have.

i could be particularly careful utilising Roundup everywhere close to any flora you want to maintain. this is an exceedingly effective herbecide and might harm gentle flora in very low concentrations. you would be greater suitable off utilising a heavy dose of mulch. this is what I do: i exploit newspaper, 5-8 sheets thick around all my vegetable flora for no less than 18 inches around the flora. Lay it down so as that this is interior of a million-2 inches of the plant, moist it as you're laying all of it the way down to hold it in place quickly until you may get some compost of mulch on authentic of it. It makes a great weed barrier and facilitates to hold moisture for the period of dry spells. this is particularly a soreness to place it down yet pays off in time you keep weeding later. in case you're frightened approximately looks only make beneficial the paper is thoroughly lined by ability of mulch or compost. good success

Yes, it kills everything - Grass, weeds, flowers, small trees.
If used it should only be used in places like cracks in sidewalks and stair or where everything is a weed and after killing, something else will be planted. And only when it won't drift in the wind.
Broad leaf weed killer is better to use if you want to keep grass.

Other than indiscriminately killing just about every thing it touches there is no problem. Make sure to keep it and the runoff from plants you want saved. Some plants require more than one application. Treated surfaces are safe once dry but of course you don't want any grazing animals to eat the treated plants.
