Yup my mom openly told me I was a mistake...she also lashed out and said that she would be better off if she had an abortion. I always felt unwanted. My parents and I have and probably will always have and awkward relationship.

When I was 8 I asked my mom how long she and my dad were married before I was born, and that's when I found out I was a "surprise". It didn't then and never has caused any problems in my life, nor has it ever concerned me. I think how it effects you has a lot to do with how your parents tell you. If they act all angry and say you were "an accident" [like a car accident] I can see how that would cause some damage to a kid. However, if your parents sit you down and explain that you were a surprise, but a nice surprise like birthday parties and baby kittens under the Christmas tree, that it really isn't that traumatic.

I wasn't unplanned but I was a replacement for a miscarriage. I've known my whole life and I've been told if the miscarriage hadn't happened I wouldn't be here. So yeah that messes up your head a little because I feel like I wasn't wanted, the other pregnancy was.

Yes, I was totally unplanned. I was a honeymoon baby.
My mother went to the doctor after the honeymoon to ask about birth control and the doctor said.........too late you are expecting. LOL
I have never felt bad about it. Most of us were unplanned.
Life happens when it is suppose to. And doesn't happen when it shouldn't.
Never ever concerned me. All three of my kids were delightful suprises.
My parents were very poor when I came along.
Does this concern you?

Yes I am. I am the third child of two very young parents (still struggling at that point) who already had their boy and girl. My mom found out she was pregnant at the consultation for getting her tubes tied!! I was lovingly called boo-boo for that and my premature birth. But I never felt bad about it and my parents never made it a big deal except as one of those funny family stories. So it doesn't concern me at all. Rather or not it affects the child all depends on the parents attitude after the fact.

I am. It does concern me, because I did not lead a very happy childhood because of this. In and out of foster care, with no real home till i was 12.
Although it hasn't effected me in the long run. I live in a very happy home, with my partner and two year old twin boys 7 am currently pregnant.

I was, and then my mom gave me up for adoption. That has never bothered me. I know my biological mother, and I know I had a much better life thanks to her. My daughter was an "oops"..but the best oops i've ever had :)
