It's hard to get the title correct for this question.

Ok so just say a person bends over backwards to help, encourage, support and show a person what they could be. Why is it that the person being helped can't see or refuses to see the big picture even after the original party makes it clear that they do it for other people?

I mean surely a person can see whats happening without it being spelled out for them can't they? And if they can why do they continue to ignore the problem?

Those who are helped is this world have gotten used to the idea that it always comes at a price. Those who help may or may not seek a reward. It is those who do not seek reward and truely help just to help are often looked at by people who do not know what to think of it. When they can realize the truth they tend to feel bad. For one thing they see that they are not the same way and have actted wrongly. Others are so used to being given their way that any thnig else is not right to them, and as long as things stay the same, well that's ok to them, and to them that is all that maters. And some do need to have it spelled out, beacue they just cannot understand it.

"Why is it that the person being helped can't see or refuses to see the big picture even after the original party makes it clear that they do it for other people?"
-now this is really confusing @.@

"...And if they can why do they continue to ignore the problem"
-err...who's ignoring whose problem? @.@

ok...i'm not sure if i understood this Q correctly...
but maybe...the problem isn't as easy to solve as the helper thinks...probably the one being helped has alot of issues going on or something?
or maybe the helper is helping in a way which would only work for himself if he was in problematic person's position...

for example...some people need stronger medicine than others' with the same ailment...
right?...get it? howell...thanks for the 2 points anyway. =)

It's in the makeup of men and women.
Look at say, George Bush. Even though most of the country is against his war policy at this point, he continues on with it.

Look at the Hollywood young-uns, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohen, etc, etc. They know right and wrong, but feel it doesn't apply to them. (ie Paris's arrest.)

Friends are listening, but for whatever reason, love being in the pigpen (ref. the Prodical son in the Bible) so much, that they ever can't come to terms of where there at, or want "just one more days with the hogs".

Just pray for them , that they might realize the err of their ways before its too late. And continue to be there for them.

What are YOU ignoring about the thoughts and/or feelings of others? What are you not seeing clearly? Why can't you see what is happening in your need to control others without others spelling it out for you?

They might see, but they probably want to stay ignorant.
They probably don't want to see the big picture.
They probably don't want to care. =/
which is a shame because they should appreciate and be thankful for what is given to them!

It's the situation that you are in. It bothers me when I'm doing something and someone comes up and needs help.

Because no one likes a busy body.
That is why I help only if I'm specifically asked to do so.
