Meteorologists study tornadoes as a part of their studying all kinds of weather phenomena. Then of course there are the storm chasers. They must either be adrenaline junkies or have death wishes to do that job! I have been through several tornadoes in my life (had my car picked up and shook around by one in Nashville) and believe me, when there's a tornado the only place I want to be is underground!!!!!!!

A person whos studies tornadoes is most frequently referred to as a tornado chaser. Their lives are extremely dangerous because they are always risking their life by going out and inspecting large twisters.

Meteorologists study the weather....
Stormchasers do not so much as study tornados as they do track current storms. Often in areas prone to tornados the local sherriff's department will oversee the creation and operations of storm chaser groups. They are mostly made up of volunteers.

I know somebody that does this. He's a meterologist. His life is busy, and exciting. On the other hand, I live in Springfield, Mo. It's tornadoe alley. I've had close encounters with them, and countless times of hearing the tornadoe sirens. It's pretty unnerving. It can move your adreneline level.
