Your going to have to shut off the water that goes into the tank.
Then, you have to remove the tank from the bowl and replace the gasket. Put new bolts in when you do it to hold the tank on.
Don't tighten the tank back on any tighter than what it takes for the joint to not leak or you can break the tank or bowl and have to buy a new one.
Best Wishes

You need to replace the tank to bowl gasket. there are two bolts that need removed carefully so you don't break the tank or the bowl.
The bowl gasket kit will have new bolts and a new gasket. Just put your tank back using the new parts and you should be done.
I also suggest if you are replacing those parts you inspect the rest of the parts in the tank and make sure you don' have another problem in the near future.

The best advice I can give you is go to your local hardware store and explain the problem . They will know what your talking about. There is a rubber gasket between the tank and bowl that probably needs replaced. I costs about $ 5.00. Home Depot or Lowe's is also a good place to go. If you have big bucks call a plumber.Good Luck.

Try tightening the nut and bolts a quarter turn . This should take care of it. If not, then replace the gasket that is between the tank and toilet.

Everyone forgot one item except one person but, his price was way off, the rubber washer between the bowl and the tube, it's nickel and dime item but, once you forget, you have to reverse everything and start all over, replace it all again. You must have forgotten it when you put it together or the washer is very worn and leaks.

first turn the water off (at least temporarily). Then drain your tank and check the fittings around the leak. You may have to caulk around them to provide a leak proof seal.

there are kits you can buy to replace all the fittings in the back of the toliet. Sounds like this might be your best option.
