The PS3 has less memory worse graphics card....and more, not to get too technical. But all this state of the art equipment that 360 shoved into their box causes massive overheating and RROD (Red ring of death) ...Thats why I'm hesitant to get one.

Like one or two people have already said, the 360 had a year-long headstart. All in all, this may not seem like much, but in that time, the developers have had the extra time with the 360 to iron out any bugs. Also, the PS3's internal architecture and the architecture of the OS (Operating System) make developing games for it harder than for the 360. This makes some sense, though, seeing as how MS got their start manufacturing OS's. Even after developers have overcome all the problems in developing for the PS3, the difference in visuals between the two will, more than likely, be negligible. Due to superior memory, however, the 360 is capable of more advanced AI (Artificial Intelligence).

The real answer is software.
The 360 has been out more than a year longer than the PS3. It takes quite a while for the game developers to learn a new platform, and each one is more sophisticated and complicated than the last. The early PS3 games just don't take full advantage of the hardware yet, because of the learning curve. It's the same reason that Halo 3 didn't come out until the 360 was 2 years old: it takes a LONG time to learn to develop for these advanced systems.
As time goes on, the top-tier games for the PS3 will start taking full advantage of its capabilities. And then something new will come out, and people will ask this same question again... :)

its not so much worse. only if ur playing it on a 70s tube TV mayb. if all u do is look at screenshots of ps3 games well ur a retard. u need 2 actually c it on an HD display with 1080p and HDMI with full RGB range (maximum color). thats when ull c the tru grafix. the ps3 uses the RSX (reality synthisizer) as its grafic card and 360 uses Xenos ( custom ATi grafic card). i don wana go 2 the detail just go 2 links and compare. sony started production on the RSX on 2004 or 2005 i forget. 360 came out on 2006. but the time it came out the RSX was almost done. sony doesnt want 2 redo everything cuz theyre not stupid and know ppl want it out right away. The RSX can actually work together with the Cell broadband (PS3s supercomputer like processor don wana go 2 details) to create even greater grafix than 360s and is proven in hard numbers and tests (link) . thats all i haf 2 say 4 now.

What are you talking about????? PS3 has way better graphics than a 360. Go look into the info on the 360 crashing all the time, once PS3 came out with games with amazing graphics Xbox had to step their game up and release better quality games and when they did that, the 360 had a 40% crash rate with their systems because their systems couldn't handle the graphics. I wish I could remember the name of the game, but it happened when PS3 released this one game and 360 released the same one, but it burnt out 360's like crazy cuz the graphics couldn't be handled.
Plus PS3 graphics support is just better off the bat, there is a big difference between 1080p and 1080i. So you are totally incorrect in saying what you did.

The PS3 has great graphics (And i am a Xbox360 owner and fanboy). Problem is, developers are having a hard time still figuring out how to take full advantage of all the hardware. In a couple of years when they get some games that are worth it, that system is gonna kick butt.

If you are basing it on EA games those multiplatform game producers are lazy and use the same engine to design all their games so even xbox has wii graphics for those supposed hd games..
.If you are talking about graphics that you see in side by side in the front store display windows at eb games and gamestop...Look at the tvs they are on.....In the store window the xbox is hooked up to a hdtv and the playstation 3 is hooked up to a regular tube tv...When you go inside the stores and look at the playstation 3 kioks and xbox kioks you'll notice that they are both on hd sets, you will also notice that the stores (which controll the demo content) don't generally have the same multiplatform demos on both systems so consumers can't do a side by side but if you look at the ps3 exclusives , you notice a huge difference in graphics and physics of the games...PS3 is much much better...

PS3 games are harder to make. That's why most companies aren't making exclusive games for them anymore. GTA4 was delayed because of the PS3 version. The game was supposed to come out this Oct-Nov but because of hardware issues with making it "pretty" and up to par with the now finished 360 GTA4, 360 owners have to wait a while. It takes 2-3 months more to make a PS3 game. Most companies try to rush their games on the PS3 just to keep up with their 360 counterparts and that's why they end up looking like ****. Top games like GTA4, DMC4, R&C, and MGS4 will like amazing because they have years of time put into them.

the truth is that the Xbox has a SLIGHTLY better graphics card but the PS3 is still the overall better machine
everything the the PS3 has for free you have to pay for with Xbox
1a. ps3 has free online pay
b. xbox doesn't
2a. ps3 has a standard blu-ray player
b. xbox only has HD, and you have to buy a bulky, expensive add-on.
3a. the ps3 has a full internet browser
b. xbox doesn't
4a. the ps3 can connect to the internet wirelessly via WiFi
b. to connect with xbox, you have to buy a bulky expensive add-on.
