It's learnt that they couldn't afford the price it was going to cost them in every sense of the word to 'secure' the oil/gas reserves beneath the Falkland Islands - never make the mistake it was about the few bods living on the Islands!

As to what they learnt and are the conflicts still continuing, well, Einstein summed it up best:-

"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."

that's an island off of the coast of Argentina. It belongs to U.ok., yet Argentina disputes this. the two international places went to conflict over 20 years in the past after Argentina invaded it and claimed it became area of Argentina. uk took it returned forceably with the inability of a conflict cruiser: HMS Shefield and the lives of hundreds of sailors. The conflict deliver became sunk via a single Argentinian Mirage jet's Exocit missile. nearly all of folk who stay there are of British descent and talk English. although, the island is extremely a procedures from uk and extremely on the factor of Argentinia. There are greater sheep than people who stay on the island. there has been no settlement of the dispute between Argentinia and uk over the possession of the island. the two international places steadfeastly declare unwavering sovergnty. (you will desire to do your individual analyze and locate out what 12 months the conflict became fought, the gap The Falklands is from the two uk and Argentina and how many lives have been lost via the two sides.)

Well Argentina learned 2 things :
1) That loosing a war is not a way for making a dictatorship more stronger.. A military dictatorship have to win war, not to loose them, for lasting
2) that is better non kicking a sleeping lion to see if ht is yet alive...
3) that if you want to conquest a oil/gas basin, better you are ready to defend and keep it...... (and this was well learned by Saddam during first Iraqi war).

They (and every other tin-pot Dictator around the world) learnt that, for all their blustering, the USA would simply allow a blatant act of aggression against a peaceful nation; the occupation of a defenceless people against their will; and a criminal act in violation of all recognized conventions-and not lift a finger in response.

The Argentinian junto, to their ulltimate cost,. learnt the lesson that even if the Americans and Russians would do nothing, it is best NOT to irritate the British.

They won because no one wanted to bomb the place.
