Our tooth fairy gives $5.00 for the first tooth... After the first tooth she gives $2.00 for the tooth, One of my kids lost half a tooth one time so she got $1.00 for the half and then another dollar for the other half... Everyone I know said >>>> THE TOOTH FAIRY GAVE $5.00 FOR A TOOTH??? They will expect $5.00 for every tooth. Not true, I tell my kids they get more for the first tooth, after that she only gives a few dollars. They have never questioned it or pouted... They are happy with what ever she leaves them...

My little brother just lost his tooth and he got $2! He thought that was pretty awesome! Because normally they are so young, they don't understand the true value of money... So $2 is so much to them! I think that's a good amount for a tooth. Although if I lost one now, I am 21, I would want more than that!!! Haha... Damn scabby tooth fairy!!

Two things - It's according to how "rich" your family is. What value do they place on a particular tooth? This weighs in on how much money you will be paid by the Tooth Fairy. Peace, Love and God Bless.

Different teeth have different values. A front tooth for instance should fetch more than say the one next to it. A molar, well twice that. Think of the labor and fear that go into getting one of these puppies out. These days I'd say a fiver is cool --- I mean, what can a kid get with a buck - half a gallon of gas ?

In Canada we have Loonies and Toonies (the loons are our one dollar coin, of course the toonies are two dollar coins) the Standard fee for a lost tooth is generally in the 'Toonie' range, here.

When I was little it was 25 cents. Now I fear she's giving anywhere from 1-5 dollars. To me, over two bucks is kinda pushing it.
