Ok well . . . here's the thing. I started gymnastics when I was 3. I am 15 now, and I am a Level 9 in artistic gymnastics. I'm not trying to be mean but . . . do not start artistic gymnastics . . . you would never get really good. And I am 5'5" and weigh 98 pounds . . . and my coaches still think that I could weigh less . . . if I cut all sugar out of my diet. Trust me you would hate it, it would be too hard. To be able to do gymnastics, you have to develop a love for it at a very early age. Otherwise, you would be extremely frustrated with yourself at your mistakes. I'm sorry. On a lighter note though, you could take a beginner tumbling class just for fun. Many people do that, and do just fine. Just start low, and you will probably never compete, but don't rule out the possibility! Shoot high for the future if it turns out it's something you really like. Just don't force yourself to go if it's too hard, and you aren't having fun. That's the worst thing you can do to yourself. Just have fun! Don't set your hopes too high yet though. You could be very dissapointed.
