It will be a bit of both.
You will need to make an effort to stay close to the friends you want to keep.

You all will eventually move in different directions even if you still live in the same town. It takes some energy to keep up with friends but the ones that really matter will be in touch. I've been out of high school almost 8 years and I talk to about 5 of my friends

Hi Yours Truly Cindy,
I graduated 69 & I still get together with friends ( just depends who's in town we all go to classmates.com & post a notice between 10-15). A couple times a year (TGIF we getting together today-American Legion-dancing, boozing, smoking outside as Mn went smoke free, catching up). My Mom graduated in 1920 she still has class reunions & the girls get together for lunch once a month chat about school still, their lives (most our in their 80's) not to mention who's in nursing home or have passed away. I usually help Mom get their (she never learned how to drive) & help with her wheel chair stay for lunch & just listen (last month they all tried Mike's Hard Lemonade-liked it too restraunt was outta of gin tonic's). All my 6 of my children still see some old pals from school but I can't never remeber what years each one graduate. Have a good night. :0)
Additional Details:good friends are good friends, we all have busy lives but make the time for each other to catch up on what's going on-college,marriages,divorces,babies, graduations,grandkids, parents etc.

High school is slightly different here.
We leave at 16 - then go on to college.
Our Uni's are the same as your colleges. We start at 18ish.
Anyway - my point is - there are a couple of colleges in my town of 50,000ish so everyone still sees everyone out and about.
I've lost touch with a few people who have gone to uni though =/

We moved on. We still keep in touch but not as much.

i graduated in '07... CLASS OF 2007 WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-p but i do still talk to my main friends, and even the ones that i was friends with who graduated in '06. i love my friends and dont ever want to loose them!

well many of many friends move to the same college as me, so i still have to deal with them lol

in 1 years i will graduate i just stick to myself now people walk past me and say their hi's and bye's
