The freedom to choose whether or not to wear a seat belt or MC helmet without fear of paying a fine would probably increase the fatality rate.
I'm not saying people shouldn't wear them, I just believe they should be able to make the choice about wearing them without being fined for it.
There are many such instances...drug laws, morality laws, etc.
