A miscarriage is a single episode of cramping and heavy bleeding. My miscarriage lasted about 20 minutes, from the start of cramping till the bleeding ended. You also expel the fetus. :(

A miscarriage doesn't last a week, as your bleeding has. But I'm not sure if spotting like yours is what leads up to a miscarriage (i.e., if you have already lost the pregnancy and the miscarriage hasn't happened yet).

As everyone has suggested, call your doctor, but keep in mind that bleeding during pregnancy is not unusual. You just want to make sure everything is still OK.

That happened to me last August, I had a miscarriage. It started as bleeding with no clumps. Do not believe everything you read on the internet. Every case of pregnancy is special. Go to your doctor, ask them what to do, usually they will ask you the state of the bleeding, are you wearing a napkin, you should that's how they measure the severity of the bleeding. Lie down, do not move, call your husband. When you go to your OB, they will look for the heartbeat of the baby and if there is still heartbeat, you may be safe. They will prescribe you with a medicine that could help the baby. You do not need to take a pregnancy test. You are pregnant.

At 6 weeks I bled some so I made a doctors appointment (just my regular doctor) and then on the day of the appointment I bled not quite "heavy" but "clotty" right up till my appointment and then nothing. They looked to make sure my cervix wasn't open and then sent me for an ultrasound. The tech and then my obgyn said that you can bleed when the egg implants in your uterus and apparently this was all it was cause I had a healthy baby 8 months later.
I would call and tell my obgyn what is going on but really I wouldn't rush to the ER (unless I was in bad pain) there's not much they can do at 8 weeks. A home pregnancy test won't work right away cause it only picks up if there is the HGH in your pee not the levels, if you just recently miscarried you would still show some HGH in you pee. When you are pregnant HGH keeps going up, if you miscarried it would go down. They can have you go to the lab and get your blood drawn every other day to see if it is going up or down now.

Call your obgyn it's not good for your head to sit alone worrying about this silly.

unfortunatly, if you are only 8 weeks and in the process of miscarrying, there is nothing the doctors or anyone can do for you. It's sad, but true. Bleeding with clumps in early pregnancy is a sure sign of a pregnancy that is not viable (not going to last) - some bleeding is normal for some women, but not the clumps that you have described in your post. Go to the ER and tell them what is going on, they will draw a beta blood test and find out what your levels are, chances are if you have already lost the contents of conception, your numbers will be very low for being 8 weeks....they will have you go back in 2 days to see if the numbers go down or up...if going down, it's pretty much hard to say you've lost your baby.... I just went through this in August...very hard, but you will make it through - god bless.

Never take chances. Go to the emergency room. Your first instinct should have been to go see a doctor. No one can answer this question over the internet. A pregnancy test does not tell you that you are having a miscarriage. It is a pregnancy test. How old are you? Do you have someone that is supportive of you?
Take care of yourself and the baby.
Seek help now!!!!!!!

You could take another test, but it would probably still say that you are pregnant, which you could be. I think that you should bite the bullet and go to the doctor! If you did have a miscarriage you need to be sure that it was a full miscarriage and there is nothing left inside of you. Talk to your doctor.

The best thing to do is get to a doctor. It sounds like a miscarriage. Have you had any cramping? If you get a fever, that could mean you had a partial miscarriage and got an infection. The pregnancy tests aren't completely reliable.
Be safe and get checked.

Go to a dr. I had those signs and went into a dr. and found out that I was having a miscarriage. I didn't even know I was pregnant until then? But go in to be sure. If it is a miscarriage, you want a dr. to make sure your system clears it self out like it should. If not, and you are pregnant, then you need to start prenatal vitamins and get whatever advice from your dr.

a home pregnancy test wouldn't be able to quantitate
your hormone levels. The best thing you can do is get
off your feet lie down and call your gyn/ob doctor. If
you are bleeding that bad at 8 weeks you probably
are having a miscarriage. My regrets

sounds like a miscarriage. You really need to go to the doctor. you can become anemic. Clumps are not "normal" . If you don't go to the doctor, you can bleed for weeks. Brooke S is right ! You can get blood poisoning and DIE !
